I liked the look and feel of the hotel, both inside and out, as well as the homey feeling that comes from the owner's low-key dog sleeping under a chair in the lounge. But the front desk personnel are the ones who really made my stay an excellent experience. When I arrived, I asked for an interior room in the back and got not only the interior room but also a free upgrade. The room had what appeared to be a newly redone bathroom with two sinks. The receptionists were always friendly and helpful (esp the Spanish one). Finally, the hotel has an excellent location in a district with many upscale shops and reasonably priced restaurants. The Spanish receptionist referred me to one of my two favorite restaurants during my stay; it was not in any guide book (Le Comptoir des Marronniers). The maid was very hardworking and kept my room spic and span. Place Bellecour is a block away and Gare Perrache is about 10" away by taxi (or 20" walking). Vieux Lyon is about 15" away in another direction.

The staff members were warm and helpful every time we came and went, and they had useful information about taxis and restaurants. We stayed twice, with one night away between stays, and they were able to store our suitcases for us. Each room was very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The location was great for exploring via Lyon's excellent transportation system and was a short walk to Vieux Lyon and other interesting neighborhoods. The hotel isn't luxurious but it's very nice, and great value.

The room was tiny, however I had everything I needed there. The bed was convenient, location of the hotel is excellent - literally 5 minutes from the old town, very close to shopping street. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the New Years, I felt very festive. Great breakfast, highly recommended to take it.

Tamara

The hotel and the rooms were beautifully decorated, room was a good size and bathroom was large. We enjoyed the lounge and onsite restaurant. Location was very good and staff was able to get us taxis quickly whenever we needed.

Kay

The location was very central, bedding appears very clean, and it was in a nice popular area that was very accessible to everything. The staff were all very nice. It was a plus to have a room with a window view of the streets.
